  Solid 4 stars. First of, The Dog is a cozy, friendly, super comfortable neighborhood hangout. This is not a hipster bar, though you see a few. This is place to come any time of week for comfort food and a big helping of hospitality. First the food. Specialty dogs are great, burgers are solid and cooked perfectly. The tots are perfect. Perfect. Jambalaya is best I've had north of LA and everything on the menu is homemade and good quality. The beer and booze selection is good. My pal Adam is a Captain Black fan and can rarely find it. It's here. Come on down. West Side is the best side.
